84 dash problem

ok well ive had my 84 for about 7 months and it was my first vette the dash lights worked fine but it just quite. During the day it still has power so you can see it but at night even with the lights on it will not light up this is a minor problem but im just askin for some advice thanks.

first thing is first check your fuse in the fuse box,......instrument panel lamps circuit 44.fuse rating amps 3.....if fuse is ok check voltage at main light switch.[circuit 44 dk grn wire.........if voltage to main light switch is ok check instrument panel connection......check bulb in instrument panel.if bulb is ok check bulb socket for broken wires and loose connections,...... lcd speedometer cluster circut 139.. fuse 5 amp, check cluster fuse, if fuse is blown.determine cause and replace. if fuse is ok check cluster ground connection between cluster terminal.repair if required.if ground is ok, check power at cluster connector terminals...if power is not present repair or replace wiring harness..if power is present at cluster replace cluster ............................... and could be head light dimmer rheostat switch is faulty.mounted on the maine light switch.
