HDMark, five yearsago, when I took my 87 Vette conv't out of Winter storage, my antenna would not operate. I could hear the motor working(humming), but the actual antenna would not move. I searched around for a replacement, but was hard to find, even on eBay. I took a can of WD-40 and sprayed half of it down the antenna hole in the body of the car and let it sit for a few hours. Then I emptied the can down the hole and the next morning, I turned on the radio and the antenna worked perfectly; no problem since. TRy this and it may surprise you, unless the motor is actually burned out.

Mid America has both the complete motor and just the replacement mast with the nylon ribbion attached.

If the motor is working, replacing the mast and nylon ribbon is easy
