Hey guys, I was referred here by some Chevy guys who said y'all really know your stuff. My dad has an 84 'Vette that just kicked the bucket, and I knew where there was an LT1 from a 93 Z28 pretty cheap. My dad is an awesome mechanic, but he doesn't mess with EFI wiring all that much. Is there anyone who has a write-up on this swap, or has done it before and can give advice on wiring issues? Any parts we'll need to purchase to swap components? We would just rather know exactly what we're doing before jumping into it, as I'm sure the wiring isn't the same for an 84 Vette and a 93 Z28. Thanks a lot for any help or resources you can share.

P.S. I'll be checking the classifieds, but if you have a wiring harness for the 93 and compatible LT1 years, give me a PM. I found out when I got there that I did get the computer, but the "wiring" was just odds and ends left on the engine, not the whole harness [:@]

 

Well, since your 84 is a cross-fire injected, you have to pretty much change the whole engine harness out to put an LT in since it is port fuel injected. You also have a 700R transmission in your 84 where for the wiring harness and computer have a 4L60 transmission on the end of it (computer controlled). You have a lotta work ahead of you to convert. Ive heard that it will bolt right in. You will need all the assessories to go with it i.e. alternator, a/c, pullies etc. to be from the corvette lt1. you will need newer fuel pump and fuel lines. you'll need custom lines if you use the a/c since it will now be on opposite sides of the vehicle.
