Default 94 auto stuck in ppark

My "94" transmission shifter is stuck in Park. Looking for some suggestions as to where to start looking for the problem.

Welcome to the forum.

I seem to remember hearing that there is an interlock solenoid that may be the problem. I believe it's what kept you from taking it out of Park unless your foot is on the brake first. Maybe it's the switch at the brake end of the circuit. Or the solenoid.

Thanks, I've been doing a little research and that seems to be an issue with C4 auto's. I seem to remember hearing a 'click' when I put my foot on the brake and I'm not hearing that now.

An update on this problem. Since we're all stuck at home I decided to take a look. Easy solutions first, took the center shroud off to check the shifter linkage and found a quarter floating around underneath. pulled that out, cleaned thing a bit and applied a little lube. Working fine now. Sometimes you get lucky and the easy solutions work. Now just need the chance to take it for a drive.
