C4 Brakes -
My C4 is a 92 convertible 100% stock LT1 with Automatic with 44k miles.
Why does it seem like C4's seem to have inferior braking systems? I've had 2 C4's (90 & 92) and it just seems like the brakes have never been able to bite when needed. Just yesterday when driving home I went to make a halfway panic stop thanks to a ball rolling onto the street. I stomped on the brakes and it felt like as if my poster had no vacuum. The pedal was stiff yet with my reaction time I should have come to a skidding stop but I didn't. Instead I came to a stop but if felt like I had no input as to how soon or when I was going to come to a stop. With all that being said, I also have owned a C5 and the braking system on the c5's is like from another world, I could stop on a dime at any time. So, other than going with a drastic brake upgrade (wilwood) are there any suggestions to get better performance from the stock braking system?
Thanks in advance for your input.
