C4's and high miles?

found that one, looks like a really good project, something I'd be interested in. Glass would have to be replaced before winter of course as I would be storing it undera cover.
I can see it needing parts and the 170k miles reflecting on the price. Are these cars "good" still with that much mileage or is this an immediate pass.
Still, looking for a C4 between $0 - $5000 thats going to be a fun project to do

RE: C4's and high miles?
Looks like a good deal. My '84 has 150K+ and I'm currently changing the rear hubs, already changed the fronts as well as ball joints tie rod ends, brakes, transmission,on and on. I guess the point is if all that hasn't already been done it WILL be done soon!
If I had to choose, I kinda think I would go with the '93. With the window and top fixed it would be worth more than the '84 will ever be.
There is one drawback to the '93-the LT1 motor. They are kind of a breed unto themselves almost nothing from the earlier motors will fit and little from the later motors will fit. That's not all bad lots of things can be done to an LT1 to perk it up and it's not too shabby stock.

Seems like an ok price, from an INDIVIDUAL. From a seller? It must be in pretty bad condition that we can't see...
I would get it scanned for data, and measure the squeeze in all 8 holes. Pull all plugs, and check carefully.
Watch what comes out of the exhaust COLD, as someone start the motor. At 170k, you can expect some 'fog'. The compression is more important.
