I have a 93 LT1 Stock. I was going to replace the opti-spark and am considering other upgrades.
Reading some of the trade rags many of the performance improvement products a more hype than power for the $.
I would like some noticeable power improvements and was considering a cam/rocker/header upgrade.
GM performance products has a Hot Cam LT4 package which includes 1.6 rockers? Has anyone installed this and was it worth the $?
Comp Cam also has a package Extreme Energy 260, or could I go higher and not loose too much driveability and reliability?
I was also looking at JBR Shortie headers, anyone installed these?

I would go with the LT4 hot cam package (I think you will have to do some head work though), gears and long tubes. I have never done this package but most of the people that have seem to be quite pleased.

 

I know a few people that have done the LT4 and loved it, you must know that it comes on a stock car so its reliable engines work like this more power less everything else like gas milage ( unless you keep your foot out of it) less relibilty, less ergonomics ect, when you make the header chioice dont scimp at all im my opinion you get what you pay for if you go cheap you will have exhaust leaks and loose power exhaust is all about flow, the smoother faster the flow the more power but you cant run it unrestricted b/c back bressure adds flow.
comp cams has a good name and i like the E/E cams series the 260's nice but your going to have a lil bit of a lumpy idlejust rember you almost always get what you pay for!!!
