I hear you here in NE Wisconsin as well. I also have a Harley. I love all bikes and wave at anyone who's enjoying the sport. But even with the Harley some don't wave. The problem with either one is that some folks buy a Vette or a Harley as a status symbol. They are just posers. I love my Vette. It's not perfect but I give er all the TLC it wants and it treats me good back. There is a feeling you get when driving your vette. If you aren't getting the feeling, go buy a minivan. Everytimre I leave the driveway is like the first time. The sound of the exhaust, the long low look down the shinny red hood, the feel of the torque as i squease the throttle. It all says Corvette. I wave. I wave to all Vettes and to all bikes when I'm on my Harley. I'd rather be the one who knows than the one who poses. (I wish I could have made that ryhme)

So heres to ya all. I'm not shy!! A BIG WAVE from a fellow Vette lover !

I would rather be the one smelling the Corvette roses than the one who poses!

Haha, Corvette King probably doesnt have the same problem as us because anyone with a C5 that doesnt know anything about their car probably thinks his is the same year as theirs . Oh well... im glad to know i would get a wave from all of you.[8D]

Hey Black I'm glad you made this post because for the last couple of weeks I have been telling myself I should make a post about this. I've only had my Vette for about 7 months now and when I purchased it I had no clue about the "Corvette Wave" until one day I just so happen to keep passing other Corvettes and everybody was waving and I just thought it was the greatest thing. I remember going home and telling everybody how all Corvette owners wave at one another. But recently it seems as if the C5 and C6 owners not only don't have a clue, but don't really care to catch on. I mean how much of a learning curve is there in catching on to the "Corvette Wave?" Anyhow I still wave a every Corvette I pass and for the most part if its a C5 or C6 I really don't expect a wave back, but hey one day they might just catch on. Until then this is one C5 owner that you can always get a wave from [sm=groupwave.gif]

Before I bought my Vette a friend had told me about the wave and I didn't really trust his words being that he knows absolutely nothing about anything and sometimes just derives his own theroies. But little to my surprise he was right about people waving. I have some experience with the C5 drivers not waving but usually it has been a women driver and looked like they didn't even see me, and the other "non wavers" did look like they were to proud to wave but most C5 drivers around here wave. As for the C6, I haven't passed all that many but the ones I have I just don't think they have a clue about the wave maybe they need a few years to catch on like the C5 owners are just now doing!

I work in the Palm Springs area and there are C5s and C6s by the gobs so I did a little experiment this morning on my 40 mile drive to work in my 85 C4. Every corvette I saw I waved to. I saw 3 C4s and they all waved. I think I saw 5 C5s and 3 of them waved back. I saw 2 C6s and NONE them waved. On the other hand, last week I saw a C6 with a dealer plate on it going down the street where my work is. I waved to him and he turned with a huge smile and waved back. The area I am in is full of snobs with too much money but I guess the wave thing all has to do with personality. I don't care what year the car is, I always wave.

I was leaving from work today and a guy in what looked like i guess an 03 Z06 initiated a wave at me. He was on the phone and pulled up next to me and took his hand off the wheel to wave... i just thought that was down right dandy.

. . . the people with C5's and C6's are jerks. They are cocky because they think that are better . . . .
Yeah, SOME people, not all, who have C5s and C6s are jerks. In addition to being a great sports car, Corvettes are a glammour status car and some people (a**holes) buy them for status and the "I'm better than you because I spent more on my car than you did" thing. Just tolerate them: believe me, buying a Corvette doesn't improve you sex life (well, actually, some friends tell me it does) or make you more charming, but these people get their own punishment, eventually they will grow bored and trade their car on an escalade with 22 inch chrome wheels and spinners: and even their mothers don't love them they are so disgusting.

More to the point, there are a lot of C5 and C6 owners who do wave. See, this way, you know who is true to the faith and who is an imposter.
