The courtesy lights don't come on under any circumstances. The lights on the mirror don't come on when the door is opened. They only come on with ignition on and you flip switch on the mirror.
My rear view mirror light is on low power all the time. Anybody else's???

Ya' gotta' find the common feed for the two courtesy lamps (unless you're lucky, and they're both burnt).

I don't think there's a relation between the mirror light, and the courtesy lamps. Possible, but I'm not knowin' it.

Start on the power source for the courtesy lamps. It looks like haynes diagram has the console glove box light on the same feed (but with a different ground) as the courtesy lamps. Does yours work?

Okay, here we go.

The lights ain't gettin' power, or they ARE gettin' power, and thecircuit for both of them ain't groundin' out, OR BOTH.

According to this diagram, those two lights come on by the circuit groundin' out3 ways:
the headlight switch, the driver's door, or the passenger door - see thepurple circles. All 3 did not fail. If they did, buy a lottery ticket.

Both bulbs did not fail (did they?) Nor did the power feed for both fail. If they did, see an exorcist, cause according to the diagram, that 's impossible.
.

That leaves only one point where there's a common link - the blue/green circle. That HAS TO be where the break is.

Turns out that it was the fuse. Everything now works properly. Thanks to all for the help.

Switch can't be at fault because the two lights behind the seats come on when the door is opened.

So thereare 2 fuses for the interior lights? One for the courtesy lamps under the dash, and one for the cargo area lights?

According to the wiring diagram cwb posted, there's only one fuse.

Yes thats true, that's why I never thought it was the fuse. When I pulled out the blown fuse, the cargo lights stayed on.

Yeah - sure is, 'cause I am now completely confused on how that worked out.

The wiring diagram is probably wrong - it's from the Hayne's book.

But still - two different fuses for interior lights???
