Dashboard Digital Cluster Display
Hi New to Board , I have a1987 corvette. I have a question about getting the digital dashboard cluster repaired . I see that you can have them rebuilded . I was wondering is this hard to take outthe unit from the dash . I'm a novice reapir person . I have a good vette shop in the area but looking to save some money . The center readouts , gas gage , oil presure , voltage Etc is fading out . This started last year .The other areas of the cluster work well and stay lighted . I just had the a new battery , new alternator , new belt ,anttena repaired and new anttena celinoid as this was draining the car and now carstarts right up each time . Thanks
Hey, try this web site { www.batee.com} it has some good guides on many tech tips on many subjects for C4 vettes. Write back if you have trouble on finding this site.
As per Yankee Corvette, go to www.batee.com, at the top click on projects, then go down till you find his article on the digital dash. You can print it out and either use it yourself, or take it to a friend, one who can solder,to do the repairs for little or nothing. The article gives complete instructions on removing the dash from the car, disassembling it,repairing the solders, reassembling, and reinstalling in the car.It even has very good pictures and details. Hope this helps.
You might find the following website very helpful, especially the price of the rebuild: Corvette Dash Cluster Repair they're not greedy and they do an excellent job.
