Default DOUG NASH 4+3 OPINIONS

I WOULD LIKE TO START A POLL ON THE OPINIONS OFTHIS TRANSMISSION.. IS THERE ANY ONE THAT LIKES THIS LOVELY WORK OF ART. I PERSONAL AM TURNED OFF BY THE WAY THE OVERDRIVE KICKS IN AND OUT. MY BOX WAS REBUILT AND SEEMS TO SHIFT OK. I FIND KEEPING IT OUT AND ONLY ENGAGING WHEN OUT ON THE HIGHWAY WORKS FOR ME. THE QUEST FOR ME IS TO FIND THE TRICKS OF BEST WAY TO TAME THE BEAST W/O BREAKING THE CAR.

Default RE: DOUG NASH 4+3 OPINIONS

I like mine because it's a stock piece of equipment. Yes, it's not the greatest tranny out thereand I do get frustrated from time to timewhen the OD kicks in on it's own as I only use mine as 5th gear over 50mph.There are a lot of guys that do swap these out. I guess if it was a daily driverI might consider it but I'm more interested in keeping it all original.Honestly, if I had a choice between the 4+3 and an automatic I'd still take the manual. There's something about driving a vette (or any sports car for that matter) and running up and down the gears. It's more of a "seat of the pants" feel-especially in a C4. I love the C5 and hope to someday own a new ZR1 too but although a little tight, neither has the feelof the C4 cockpit.
