Well today is forty one days without my 90 Roadster due to an electrical fire. The insurance company says the fan, fan relay, and wiring failed causing the harness to fry. They say this Monday the should be able to authorize the repair. Had to do this big investigation that probally cost them as much to do as it did to just to fix the car. They quoted the harness alone as being $1200. Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this? I would thought that a fuse or the fusable link would have prevent this much damage. Really $ucks not having my car. I still watch the posting and turn my neck at every vette that goes by.

 

dude, Insurance companies suck. 41 days is just outragous. find the problem?....the chared wires should have given them a clue as to where it was...duhh. could have replaced every wire in the car by then with their eyes closed....geeesch! what a crock. did they leave you walking as well or rent you a car. maybe they can autherize the repair?.....what the Hell do we pay every month for?...because we like it. you need you car to live....take their air supply away and see how long they take to athurize the repair. bunch of holyer than thow pr!#ks. I am beeing jerked around right now by an insurance company because some young kid apperantly wanted my spot at a red light. hang tough and don't settle. that's part of their game too make you wait long perriods of time and maybe you will settle for less. keep pushing. Finally..... Forty nine days since the fire and the Insurance Company finally said they will fix my car. What Corvette withdrawls I've been going through. They approved replacing the fan motor, fan relay, and complete engine wiring harness. What a pain in the a$$ this has been. I had been without her most of the season. I need to get the car back home and pamper her through the tough New England winter. Hmmmmm maybe I'll buy her some new carpet.

 

Give her a good wax job.

 

How about a nice new cover, to keep her warm, and the mean ol' dust off her beautiful body.
And don't forget a night light.
