Fuel injector replacement
I have at least one leaking injector on my 88 Vette. I have a chance to get 8 NOS injectors, number 5235211, at a good price. All the research I've done on the Internet indicates that these are for an 86 Vette and that the 87-88 Vette used 5235302. The flow rates are listed as the same (21.6 lbs/hr) at 43 PSI fuel pressure. The 5235211 has a plastic tip and the 5235302 has an aluminum tip. Also, the 5235211 is listed as low impedence while the 5235302 is listed as high. I think the 5235302 injector replaced the 5235211 and was used in older Vettes as a replacement for failed injectors. Does anyone know of any reason I couldn't use the 5235211 in my 88? Thanks in advance.
I am not sure about the difference in impedance. It all depends on what the quad driver in the ECM is designed for. In 88 as with all the L98's, the injectors fire left bank, right bank. They are not sequentially fired like the LT1. Might need to do a little more research on that impedance thing. The L98 uses the 22lb injectors in stock trim with operating fuel pressure around 35lbs @ idle.
ORIGINAL: Black86vette
People reccomend the Ford SVO Injectors....I heard accel are easily bad out of the box and leak...Just what I heard though. No experience with either one.
