Default General Questions, Tires, Remove Seat, Accessories, etc.

General Questions, Tires, Remove Seat, Accessories, etc.

I have a stock 95 convertible, that I have owned for about a year. It is in very good condition. I just use it for fun weekend drives and car shows.

Now it's time for routine maintenance and stuff.

Who "Still" make tires for this car? P255/45ZR17 (Front) P285/40ZR17 (Rear)

Since it's just a fun driver car and not a tracing car, I just need Normal tires.

I am trying to get the driver's seat out to clean carpets etc.

What is the secret to unplugging the Air pump attached to the seat?

I have not found any YouTube videos that show the seat air pump.

Shocks:

Any recommendations for softer replacement shocks?

I still have the stock non-adjustable billstines yellow shocks.

I want to make the ride a little softer for the wife. Overall I love the ride and drive the car to as many events and excuses as possible.

Trim Stuff:

Mud Flaps: I have seen many advertised. Some models may use the existing mounting points for the inner fenders. I am looking for a set that uses the existing mounting points, any suggestions?

Single Button Door Remotes:

None of the big vet stores seem to sell them anymore?

Suggestion welcome. I have heard the "two button" systems will not work on a 95.

My existing remote does work but the plastic case is broken and will not hole the battery in place.

Rear Bumper Emblems:

Lots to choose from, soft plastic, Stickers, hard plastic.

Whaich ones will last and look good.

Since my car is Red, I am planning on Black letters?

Thanks all:

Maybe I'll see some of you at an event in Boston area.

My favorite last year was the 700-Vett Convoy during the "Vetts for Veterans" event in Bedford/Billerica Mass last summer.

Check Tirerack for tires.
Try Ebay for new fob plastic housings.
Monroe makes a good shock.
Check Weathertek for mudflaps.

I just ordered a pair of empty housing from amazon.
I tested both of my circuit boards with fresh batteries, and they still work.
I like the reviews on the Monroe, I may buy a set and paint them yellow.
I ordered some mudflap from corvette central. back ordered.

thanks, Miles

You're welcome. Show us some pics of the mudflaps when you get them on. I forgot that someone used to sell clear plastic clip-on flaps but can't remember who it was or if they are still available.

You don't need to remove the air pump to remove the seat.

You just disconnect the seat wiring harness connectors (three on driver's side) and one vacuum line. The pump assembly comes out with the seat assembly.

When I looked for new tires for mine (94 conv) there weren't many decent choices. I went with the Continental's. Changed my original shocks with KYB's. Huge difference but maybe not as soft as you want? I took my seats out a few years ago to recover them. They come out as a unit after unplugging the obvious connectors. Not hard at all to do.
