Default Headlight problem

I was wondering about the valve (****) on top of the canister which I assume is the headlight motor. Does how far it is open (counterclockwise) determine speed or how the headlights open? After opening hood and pluging in passenger light they both worked for about a week now same thing they take turn trying not to open all the way. Does battery power have anything to do with it because I did listen to radio for about 15 without engine running before this last headlight deal? It sounds like the bushings or gears but I hate to go that route if it is something simple like a wire or battery power or hood not shutting perfectly. They seem to work for a while then have a hard time opening. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Just wondering how much money for headlight motor kit? Also, where it is located and if hard to install? I just bought a '89 vette and love it except each headlights seems like they are taking turns not flipping all the way open. I can open hood and they open fine. I don't know if it is the motor or what else it could be. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

you may want to see this page ...http://www.corvettefever.com/howto/33098/

mech259 will never steer you wrong. he can help you for sure if this page doesnt.

I did both mine using this web page.. cost me $10.00 and it was actually kinda fun

if 'this' is the '****' you are talking about.. it is the manual headlight opening ****.. you can turn it to open your headlights if all else fails.

Thanks!! Yes that is the **** I was talking about. It is good to know if headlight fail to open before I am able to replace bushings and gear (if necessary) there is something there so I don't have a black eye. Thanks again!!
