Intermitent rear suspension noise
I have a 95' Corvette that I have been having difficulty finding an intermitent thumping noise coming from the rear suspension for some time.
I have replaced tires, shocks, spring bushings, adjusted exhaust and replace exhaust mounting bracket bushings.e
Anybody had this experience or got any ideas where to look next?

Well guys, I had the same problem in my 87 Vette, and posted this problem in August, I believe. MECH259 responded with, I believe, a possible problem in the wheel bearing. I have sinced stored my Vette for the Winter, but it is a priority for me in the Spring when she comes out again. Check the threads for August, for your information. When I back up, or make a right turn, one can hear the "rubbing" or "thumping" noise. I think MECH259 is correct with the wheel bearing, as four mechanics took the left rear wheel off, where the noise is, and could find absolutely nothing; not even "rub" marks on the inner fender or its peripherals. I hope I helped.

I have a 93 six speed corvette and I'm not sure that it would be the wheel bearing in that situation. I have been dealing with the same problem- a thumping on the left rear that I cannot locate for anything. I have changed the shocks and the wheel bearing(because it was needed), I have checked all bushing on the rear end. I have not been able to locate the problem for anything. I even tried jamming something between the exhaust and the differential to see if there was too much travel in the exhaust but that didn't work either. I am beginning to think that there might be something loose either inside the quater panel outside or inside, but have not had the time to check there yet. maybe together we can figure it out....
