Intermittent radio C4 Bose
Hi, I have an 89 Bose equiped and the radio has been slowly going away.
Turn it on .. sometimes it comes rite on... sometimes.. it takes a few minutes then it just pops on and starts playing music.
It's now not playing at all.. couldnt get it to come on in 15 mins of driving or so.
Anything simple? or is it time to replace the whole show.. rec and speaks?
Thanks in advance anyone who has ideas.

Most likely the problen is in the speaker amp. Each speaker has one. Somewhere behind or a part of the speaker there is a printed circuit board ... Thats it! Much work to get it out. See Midamerica for prices. I think about $100ea board or so. Best bet is to tear out the whole system and replace with Pioneer, Alpine or whatever.

3blk might oughtta' do some diagnostics before rippin' stuff out.
Have you checked to see if the antennae is postin' up when ya' got no tunes? You said radio. CD/cassette pullin' the same stalltricks on ya'?
Since no speakers are lightin' up, it's the radio, not the speakers - all 4 speakers don't bail at the same time.
How 'bout sittin' at the house, motor off?
yea.. it's not working altogether.. car running or not.. no workie.
I've started the replacing process.. head unit is in.. tryin to figure out how to remove the rear speakers.
convert.. 89
thanks for your helps

Got multimeter?
Pull the fuse for the radio, and check the line in to the fuse for 12V. Ignition, or accessory ON.
If 12V, follow the lead to the radio, and find out if the power is at the radio input. If so, put butter on the radio - it's toast.
If no power at the input, your power loss is between the fuse block and the radio.
