Default need exhaust advice

hi everyone..here is my dilemma..i have a 94 coupe..i am looking to get a better exhaust tone out of it. ecklers sells a chambered exhaust that claims to reproduce the sound of the 60's sidepipes, i would love to get that note. the ecklers exhaust is a cat back system with the chamersin the long straight section of the pipe. corvette central sells muffler eliminators that are either straight or chambered for about 1/3 of the price. should i just cut my mufflers off and go with the eliminator or go with the chambered catback? or can someone recomend something to get that nice low rumble and tone that doesnt sound cheesy. to see the ecklers exhaust check out ecklers.com part #37608a
help.......thanks

Chambered exhausts give you a nice if loud, low frequency (bass) rumble.

This setup is very similar to the one on my 85. Nice sound. Lee is right though. It is louder than I would like it to be. You know, magnaflow has a nice sound too. Just not as loud.

flowmaster is without much doubt the leader in chambered mufflers, for a loud tone get the 40 series two chamber or super 40 series two chamber, for a quieter tone, with a low bass rumble get the force II system. summit racing sells them both as catback kits or you can go to any authorized muffler shop and order them. i have several cars all with flowmasters, my buick regal has a 400 small block and has the super 40 two chamber mufflers, loud and low on the outside, but with less noise on the inside than my old 40 series. my jaguar runs an lt4 engine swap and breathes through the 3 chamber force II system, also known as delta series mufflers. to retain the class and comfort of friving without the noise i would definately opt for the delta flow mufflers or the force II cat back system

Don't do the muffler eliminators if you want to have a discussion while driving. It's not that they are that lous but you get an awful droan coming back into the car right at 60-70 mph. I can't chime in about the chambered system but I have run the Dynomax, Flowmaster and Borla. I stayed with the Borla. If you can hold off until spring, check out some of the local Corvette meets in your area and check to see what others have installed. I've never known a Corvette person that wouldn't at the least, start their car up for someone so they could hear what it sounded like.
