Default Passive Keyless Entry Redux!

Just to be sure I bought a new module but my 95 won't work doors or alarm.
Using directions I get the flashing light and when I turn off the switch to lock light gos off and never comes back on.
I think computer am I wrong?
Should I just get after market alarm and door locks for $450.00 or get origional system fixed.
Already out $160.00 for the new module anyway but I'm not married to the OEM equiptment.
Do believe in having an alarm for the few occasions its left outside my garage.

By module do you mean the key fob? What was wrong with old one? There is a procedure by which you can check the PKE system for faults by using the DLC.

Looking back in time to a previous problem w/PKE system on the sitethe key fob /module is the usual culprit.

I dropped mine around the same time it quit so naturally. Also put in new battery too.
I'll get the codes read then make a decision about the fix.

Thanks for the reply and I know another first time vette owner who joined here without any help as I did last year.
I only told him after the fact he came to the right place and to be sure not to loose that second key. LOL

I never like to look a gift horse in the mouth but I went ahead and ran the codes for the PKE and got a 13 which is no transmitter in range.
I had two transmitters so I figured that was the reading side [ PKE ] reader that was the problem.
Pulled out paperclip and walked to the door of the house and heard a beep of the horn signifying alarm engaged .
Sure enough doors were locked and alarm set.
Daughter gave me a paperclip so fix was free.
Everybody might want to file that one away for the future.
If I get this magic thing down pat I'll show up at meets and runs and make everybody who has problems day. LOL
Already looking for a wand and cape.

I also have a little problem with my PKE system on my 96. when I bought it on fob worked and the other had a dead battery, so I changed both and that was the last time they worked. I have read the manual and tried several times to set them up but no luck. I guess I'm confused what did you do with the paper clip, and is there a way to read the codes manually? thanks Bob
