Default Pin won’t come out

Replacing the gear mechanism on 1994 basic corvette headlight. Exhibits the classic symptoms of a stripped gear or smashed cylinders. Got the unit off and set on the work bench. Tried to remove the pin holding the gear shaft to the frame. It would not budge. Took a pin punch 5/32 and gave it a good hit, did not move . Can you help me remove the pin? Sprayed on penetrating oil, still nothing. What have you done that worked?

I had looked all over but apparently using the wrong key words. With your help I was able to clearify my requests. Got it, common problem, several solutions o clouding boring the thing out. Thanks.

Default Surprise!!

Walked by the workbench and the pin was nearly out. How? I don’t know it a light rap from a pin punch and bingo!! Repaired the headlight. The gear was near perfect but the cylinders were trash. Replaced the cylinders and put it back together. Works great. Nice to have this resource as we bro g this 1994 back to original. Thanks again.
