Default Poor performance

Hello guys, thanks for all the info in the past. Basically I still have theerratic idle and poor overall performance. My car is a 1985 with 30k on it. What I've done-MAF sensor, IAC, two sets of intake gaskets, knock sensor, ESC,plugs-rotor-cap-wires, tried a new ecu but didn't help, fuel filter, no vacuum leaks using propane torch, new EGR temp switch due to brocken wire, timing is dead on and minimum air is where it should be. Things I have not done are replace the power and burnoff relays, GM does not stock one for a 1985 and the 1986 has one too many pins, I don't have a scanner but I currently don't have any stored codes. I haven't replaced the distributor, quite costly to use as a trouble shooting tool. The carhesitates off the line but runs great while accclerating, cruise is not that smooth. Th car starts right up with no smoke and runs great for about three minutes, after about 15 minutes the idle starts to vary fromm 600-700. Any ideas. I'm going to break out the multimeterand start probing the computer next.
Thanks.

Just curious.....did you disconnect the "timing set connector" when you set the timing?? Mine was acting exactly as you describe, took it to mr goodwrench and they couldn't figure it out, they claimed they checked the timing. NOT!!Ended up that the timing was actually too high, got it back down where it's suppose to be and everything smoothed right out.
