Default Radio Frustration

God does have a sense of humor. Last week I ordered a brand new Panasonic head unit for my 90. I took the challange on of installing it myself. My car does have the Bose system but the amps and speakers are new. I bought the adapter for the Bose along with head unit. I got it all plugged in, tested it, sounded great, was not expecting the sound quality it produced. I got everything installed and put back together. The whole assembly looks great. Then the slap in the face, and a bizarre slap it is. When the car is running, the Bose Amp relay is kicking the speakers off. When I initially tested everything the car was turned to accesory mode. It did not kick the relay off. I thought well damn. With the car on the speakers will work for about a minute and then they cut off, the head unit continues to do its thing, but no sound. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. I am very baffled by this and the Crutchfield Tech can not figure it out either. Thanks in advance!

For anyone that read this thread, my problem is fixed now. It turned out to be that the sending wire from the radio to the amp relay was too weak, so I wired it strait to the accessory wire and now all is well.

I read it but didn't have clue what the problem was. Glad you got it fixed.

you should really make sure you put a relay and a 10 amp fuse on that so you dont damage anything if any of the audio equipment fails.
