Default removing C4 seats

hi everyone, i am new to this site so forgive me if i do something wrong.....here is my question i have recently purchased a 1994 C4 coupe, its in very nice condition and i would like to keep it that way, the seats are in good condition but the bolster on the drivers side is showing some wear, i purchased a set of seat covers, and need to remove the seats to put them on, this seams easy enough, however there are three wire clusters under the seat, two of them have clip connections, but the one in the middle does not, it seems to be hard wired right into the seat......am i missing something....or am i being stupid...help

Hello, Just this moment I finished putting my seats back in my 90 Raodster. Unfortunatly mine only had two plug in connectors, so I'm not sure where the third set of wires came from. The car is my first vet and I'm spending the winter (75 more days until spring) detailing and tweeking all the bugs as well as removing every speck of dirt. My seats are the sport seats so they do have all the bells and whistles. As far as the bolsters, I did have the outside drivers resurfaced and they look mint. Have you tried a service manual for info? Good luck.

That is odd that it is hard wired in. Sounds sort of like something aftermarket was installed if it does not have quick connectors.

there is a black pump or motor on the left front side of the seat, there is a clear tube coming out of it, so i am assuming it has something to do with the inflation of the seat, it looks like this third wire budle is attached to it. its very hard to see since there isnt much room under the seat.

That is the lumbar pump. I'm in the process of replacing mine. I have to agree with Danase that it's maybe after market. Maybe an after market seat warmer. Like I said before my seats which are now in mint condition and sport seats have only two quick connectors. The lumbar pump connects in the seat base. I actually removed my seats out completly and detailed the crap out of everthing. I must say it looks close to new now. Try taking the four nuts off and removing the seat. Good luck.
