Replacing Starter

Well im about to replace my starter motor this coming weekend. I've got my Hayne's Manual, but any pointers from any of you guys that would help me out.

Make sure the starter that comes out is IDENTICAL to the one your are going to put in. A buddy tried to replace his and the new starter was "slightly" different. He ended up taking back that starter and bought one from another auto parts store that fit.

The mounting face on the starter was almost the same, but not quite right.

Hey black & tan, make sure to disconnect the cables from the battery before you wrench on the starter, you could do some serious arc-welding otherwise.

thanks for the tips guys... my father and i replaced the starter sunday morning, was much easier than i thought, after jacking the car it took all of about 30 minutes to swap out the motors.
