shorter automatic shift lever

Default shorter automatic shift lever

has anyone modified there automatic shift lever, i have been looking
at lowering mine by cutting 1" off of the top, cutting the side slots
and machining the c-clip grove back in.

1994 c4 targa black/black beige
stock except for stereo
alpine 9815
alpine mrp 600 4ch amp
boston pro 60's front
boston sr95's rear

Don't see why it can't be done but I think I would get one from a salvage yard to experiment on.

good advice. i think i will go that route and find one from a salvage
yard and see if i run into any problems.

There is a thread at corvetteforum.com where a guy did it. It's an old thread from 2006 if you can find it. I wish mine was shorter too. I have the Alpine CDA7897 1.5 Din and the shifter gets in the way when it tries to retract when I shut it off.
