Stock Spark Plug Wires
Can ANYONE tell me, just for good measure, what the Original Equipment replacement size would be for STOCK wires on a 94 LT-1? I was under the assumption that it was 8mm. I had 8.8mm Accel spark plug wires on my car and if youve been paying attention to my previous posts about the hell i am going through with the idiots that worked on my car you will have already heard that the monkey that put it back together had my wires resting on my headers. This, in turn, melted the wires about halfway through and was causing the motor to misfire. When the owner said that they would buy me new wires, i was expecting something a bit like what i had spent $90 on and put in myself. Instead, i found out from another mechanic that he put some crappy wires in it. Now, i was looking relatively closely at the wires tonight and i realized that the wires are only 7mm! And if i am correct and the stock size is 8mm, then NOT ONLY did he not buy wires that even came close to resembling what I BOUGHT... he bought wires that didnt even resemble the STOCK REQUIREMENTS!!!! I am ecstatic, i am HEATED right now. I am really thinking about going over to this guys house (cause he lives down the street from me and i know exactly where) and waking him up at 1130 at night and showing him 175lbs of pure southern-bred power. This is just getting ridiculous, it is LITERALLY one thing after another. Anyway, if anyone can tell me that, i would appreciate it.
Either Autozone or Advanced Auto have a great selection of nice decorative wire looms. They are relatively inexpensive and add a nice touch of COOL to your engine compartment
Besides, they will keep your wires out of harms way. BTW, word-of-mouth can be more damaging than beating his a$$.

Good luck brother[8D]

To answer your question about the wire looms mech, they broke them. When re doing the spark plug wires after the rebuild, they broke them. Or they just didnt put them back on and told me they broke them... Who knows. For some reason, i had 8mm wires on my car last time i changed the wires. And then replaced them with 8.8's and then he burnt my wires and put 7's on it. Sounds kinda sh**ty right? Anyway, thanks guys
I do not have a lot of experience on the LT1 as installed in the Vette.
My 92 LT1 has stock appearing 7 mm wires.
However I have a LOT of experience witht he LT1 as installed in B body cars, like the Chevy Caprice (including Police Package cars) and Buick Roadmasters.
All of the ones I have seen had 7 mm wires.
I believe anything larger than 7 mm is aftermarket.
