So out of the blue, my transmission decides that it’s not shifting out of second gear anymore. 1st, 2nd and then I can rev it up to about 30k and it does nothing.. just noise.. when I slow down it has to be put in first manually.. but then can still take off pretty fast from 1st. It doesn’t make any bad sounds..it’s just not shifting through the gears.. I’ve heard bad transmission relays, and solenoids.. but what bout the shifter *** not coming un-depressed when in (D) could it be something worse? The car has about 50k Any
suggestions ? let me know what you guys think please

 

Welcome to the forum. Have you tried shifting manually?

 

I guess the first thing is check the obvious... trans fluid. Level and condition, smell and how it looks. After that, I'm headed to a transmission shop.
