NGK iridiums are the plugs ive gotten used to of late, but im not sure what chevy calls for. what you can do is check what kind of plug is in it then a parts store will have a crossover list of every plug that applies to your make. i woudl at leasy go with platinums.

as for an upgraded ignition, ive always run MSD, on everything.

I would run only Mobil 1 oil in the car. That's what I put in all of my vehicles and the C5 and later models came stock with it...

Is it an LT-1 car?If it is,I would recommend doing what I did.Is it approaching 100,000 miles? Then give it the whole maintenance shebang.I replaced the Opti-Spark,water pump(since you have to take it off to change the distributor),put in a new stat, new wires, plugs, flushed the radiator, serviced the tranny, fuel filter replaced, well you get the idea. And ALWAYS use Mobil 1.As far as I recall, starting with the LT-1,Mobil 1 has been the oil of choice, right from the factory.Good luck to you always.Enjoy your Vette!!!

Mobil one oil and oil filter, K&N reusable filter, change tranny fluid and gasket, change rearend fluid, drain rinse out well with DILUTED WATER your radiator, and then produce a mixture of 50/50 coolant and again DILUTED water. Tap water has harsh minerals in it that will eat at your rubber parts. Change out your serpentine belt, change out both radiator hoses and the radiator cap. Spark plugs the best IMO are ACdelco Rapid Fire. Also change out the battery annd alternator. Its a bitch when theres no crank. Possibly your starter if you have the $$. Check your tires tread and air pressure. New brake pads and rotors? Check for any oil, coolant or exaust leaks. Regrease your joints in the suspension. Check out your backup, fog, parking, headlights and brake lights. Windshield wiper blades may need to be changed. If you want to you can put RAIN X on the windows and mirrors. I like it alot. A good wax job wouldnt hurt either. A MUST have your car balanced. It saves your tires alot of good tread. Also the distributor cap and rotor button shold be changed along with the spark plug wires. Ignition yes would be MSD. 160 degree thermostat because C4s like to run a little warmer than most cars. Fuel filter and sock need to be changed. Also if you cann use a highher octante gas as it burns slower and keeps the engine clean with the pre added detergents. A new gas cap too if yours is old. Dont know if they get old or not but I replaced mine with a locking gas cap to keep the tank safe. Good luck!!!

A few things I forgot would be plug separators, clean out your throttle body with some good cleaner and a toothbrush be sure to get in the butterflies...it would be easier to dissasemble it, clean it and reinstall it. Also check your timing. Oxygen sensor may need to be replaced. Put some redline fuel injector cleaner in your tank to rid it of any carbon buildup, PCV valve, if you can remove your radiator clean out the fins and take a pair of pliars and straighten any bent fins. Make sure your front spoiler is in the correct position, Fill your washer resovoir with fluid, adjust and repair damaged nozzles, make sure your car is inspected and up to date and also your license plate has been renewed.
