The remote for my 2000 stopped working abruptly. Put in a new battery and tried to synk it by holding both keys for 10 secs but nothing. Any idea if it is likely the remote or the receiver part that is in the car?? I'm always hesitant to go to the dealer with an "open checkbook" and say fix it please.

Any leads on what to do are appreciated.

check the tire pressures on thwe DIC as well. If those are not displaying, then it could be the sign of a deeper problem...possibly the RCDLR(remote control door lock receiver)....or related systems
