Default climate control replacement support.

first off let me say that i am Not the sharpest tool in the shed. i have owned at least 7 C5 corvettes over the years and i can honestly say that this one has given me more grief than any of the others BUT i do love them. at any rate i am having issues with the climate control unit on my 2001 i rarely drive with the top down and no point in having the ac on so i never noticed that the screen was not lit (cant see it with the sun shining on it anyway) so per a lot of other corvette people i was told to take it out and have the 8 resistors re soldered and that will fix the issue but it did not. so i was told to send it out to have it repaired OR just order a replacement so I did but that did not fix the issue. now i have to back up here the lights on my original one did not work at all. i did get the lights to come on at the temp selector dial on the replacement but no others and especially the information center. i called the folks that i bought it from (USDASHWORKS.COM) and they promptly sent another. i installed that one today and the selector lights are on and the button lights are on but not the information center and still nothing works. i was thinking dynamite or C4 but that would really make a mess and still probably not fix the issue. PLEASE HELP. i want to sell this car but i cant in good faith as is.

Welcome to the forums. Doesen't sound like you have power to the control module. how are the fuses? The back lighting runs on the same circuit as the dash lights. HVAC power has its own fuse, passenger side fuse panel for the control module. A bad fuse, wire, or harness connection could be the problem.

i did check the fuse (#27) really hoping for a simple fix, cant afford to have a tech spend a lot of time on it and most techs dont want to either. thanks for the info. i did check the codes and when it got to the hvac it read "no conn"

No conn. That must mean there is an issue between the battery and control module. That could be an Ignition switch or ECM, a shop service manual and multi-meter could be helpful at this point for tracing power and wires. The fact you have replaced the control module with 2 remans and still no operation makes me think the issue is not the module,

Welcome to the forum. I agree with Thomas. It sounds like a lack of power to the module. Did you check to see if there's power at the fuse?
