Dash Stops Working
I couldn't find a post about this. Two times in the past two weeks while driving all the gauges dropped to zero(speedometer, tach, oil pressure, water temp, gas and all the lights on the dash came on(check engine, etc.). This lasted a few seconds and then everything returned to normal. The car keeps running but I do not have a clue as to whats causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Charl
Electronics is the reason I Drink. If you Google C-5 Corvette dash going out you can see corvette forums from people with the same issue and how to check it out. Could be something simple like Voltage, bad IgitionC switch or bad ground. There could be information on Youtube about it also. Awhile back I had a 04 Esclade giving me fits. I think the major problem on this thing was the wiring going into the BCM, Even though the wiring connectors were pushed and connected into modules, I found that I could take a small flat screw driver and push the wires in the connectors in farther and connect. I'm not sure if this is a common GM problem but it was in this situation. No more dash issues. I would take a close look at wiring connections, grounds and Voltage, I think you will find the issue.
