ds headlight won't go up, no grinding, nothing
I need help trying to trouble shoot the driver side light. It stop going up.It stop working suddenly without any previous problems.I say this because I don't think it is a gear issue. It goes up and down smooth by hand. The ps light works find. I checked the fuses under the hood ( fuse 3/4 ) and also under the pass floor board. They were ok. If it is the Headlamp Opening Door Actuator Control Module how do I check this? Location? Any other suggestion. Thanks for your help. It is a stock 98. Don't worry, I will never drive with one eye open. I hate when people do that!!
I think it IS a gear issue. It is the most common reason for this issue. Initially, there will be grinding noises, but that goes away, and the result is a headlight that just never goes up. Whether you can raise it manually has nothing to do with it (according to what I've read). Here's a good site for learning how to replace the gear:
