headlight door motor
I've got a 2000 model conv. that when youturn the lights off the right motor continues to run for a couple of seconds after the door is closed. Also possibly related is occassionally when I turn the lights onthey do not come on unless I flash the brights. Thanks.

RE: headlight door motor
Sounds like you might be having a gear going out in the motor, You can replace the plastic gear with a bronze one.
Here is a link to the gear repair.

About the light issue you might have 2 probs.

My 02 Z06 did the same thing....with the headlight motor....not sure about the lights not coming on unless you flash the brights....hopefully someone on here has heard of it and knows what to do. I agree with Bill K about the gear going out. I got that exact kit that he gives the link to. It was pretty easy...once you get the light assembly out of the car...just takes some time. My lights sound different know when they go up and down...nice and smooth...and the issue I had that you describe went away. If you have any questions on how to do it, let me know.
