hey guys my c5 was built by vette doctors an prob had a aftermarket clutch in it,, it didnt do it when i first bought it but a couple months in it started to get hard to put in reverse.. it either goes in and doesnt grab or it grinds goin in and i have to play with the clutch to put it in,, sumtimes hard to put it in first but once in a while,, all the other gears are like butter... now i get opinions some say its a synchronizers an others say there is no synchronizer in reverse its the clutch.. help !!!!!!!!![:@] i wana get it ready for spring !!!!!

 

how far off the floor when ya let up on the pedal does the car start to move in 1st ? have you checked the clutch fluid ? do ya have excessive play in the pedal ?

 

no excessive play on pedal only when i dynoed it once the pedal just died an i had to pump it to get it up but thats months ago the reverse jus either goes in does nothing or grinds when i put it in so i have to like play with the clutch to get it in when it nicely grabs it but then it will pop out when i let out...just get two opinions clutch or rev synchro...

hi im from mexico and i have a zo6 and i change the clutch too my gears are like butter in cold but when it gets warm my reverse and sometimes my first gear uts very difficult to get in and i need to play with the clutch too i put a ram clutch and i think that we have the same problem with reverse some people told me that i need to check the clutch fluid but i dont know what happened im worried about that i hope you can help us to do the necesary thing to fix it thanks

i have a 02 z06 with a similar problem. early in the morning my second gear will pop out if i am not paying attention, and my reverse sometimes. i believe my fluid is getting old or is already at that point. i really believe that is the problem, but do not have the time of the day to change it, maybe one day lol.
