So i took my buddy for a ride yesterday, and really rodded the beast, dida couple cookies and a long burn for him, just to give him a show but now she is grinding when i shift to second. Only when i do a fast shift though, if i granny shift it or am not getting into it, no grind. I am thinking that 2nd syncro is gone. I am gonna replace the tranny oil today with some Lucus oil, just cause that stuff has saved me before, but whats your guys opinion on things? I am new to the corvette world, so i don't know anything about this car mechanicaly yet. Help!

 

You didn't give any particulars of your car or the miles, but likely as not the car is suffered from abuse of the 1-2 shift. Check the shift and clutch linkage first, though, on the off chance that is the problem.

the car just rolled 87 k. Its a '03 50th anniv. addition. It was someones daily driver in california i am guessing, it was a californa action car when i bought it. It also had bald rear tires when i bought it too so i know the car has been drivin hard. But that is what they are for right.. . I changed the oil, smoothed all my shifts to glass, except for 2nd.. still grinds. So this winter i guess i will be pulling out the tranny and puttin new syncros in. I figured i would do the clutch to, just cause i mght as well for good measure. Anyone have any suggestions on where to order parts from? Also i was thinking about putting a big cam in it this winter.. any suggestions on anything or advice?
