Default loose door skin ??

Im noticing when I close my drivers side door on my 02 c5 it rattles as to where the passenger side is nice and solid, also I can take my had and grab it towards the front where the mirror is and move it in and out. Now the other night on the interstate I noticed the wind making it shimmy or vibrate and actually moving the glass from the rubber so much that it was making whistling noises. is there a way to tighten it or is that all bonding adhesive thats coming apart ?

There is a 3-m 8219 adhesive that's two parts you mix. If you could reglue it mounted on the car might be the easiest for you maybe. Spread the frame and the skin apart as far as needed and work some adhesive between them (putty knife or skinny flat stick) and figure out a way to press the two pieces together, won't take tons of pressure just enough to make them meet again and squeeze out some adhesive, that should work.

Just be aware though that if you glue it to the frame of the door instead of reattaching the fasteners, it may be difficult to remove if you ever have to work on the power windows or door locks.

Thumbs up

update on door skin, I ordered the 3m 8219 from amazon and got it all glued back together, I did remove the door panel and the glass just for ease and access to the spot I needed, it didn't need much so I only had to mix up enough to cover the end of a paint stick and I actually did a lot of the placing with my fingers. a few nicely placed spring clamps from harbor freight and 24 hour cure time and all is good.. door is nice and solid once again . thanks for the product recommendation and tips

I was hoping it would be an easy fix. One of the door assemblers must have been a little stingy with the glue that day. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, that's good to know.
