CAGS -- How do I disable it -- trying to shift into 2nd and it wouldn't go, had me all freaked out until I got back to the house

Was the Active Handling system an option for 98?... Car has the Z51 handling package (according to the Sales guy), and also has the Active Handling system as well (included with the Z51 package??)

Column Lock Bypass -- Somthing I should definatly do? Some have told me yes, some have said no?

You can buy a CAGS defeat at almost any Corvette supply house like Zip, Ecklers, MAD, etc. I never did this, since I normally shift as soon as the shift light goes out. The CAGS is active only when you see that shift light.

Definitely do the CLB if it has not been done AND the dealership had not previously removed the mechanism (They have been doing this for a while). After about 1500 actuations, the CL will fail, potentially leaving you stranded.

2001 had the greatest number of changes of all the 5th generation models.
