Default RE: Quick question on the Honker

The lowest price I found was on eBay. First time I saw it the price was $459, plus $12 shipping. Then the price went up to $469 + $12, at which time I bought it. Well, to make a long story short, the seller was out of stock, but charged my credit card. After waiting almost 2 weeks, I canceled my order and the seller refunded the money. I see he has recently acquired some bad feedback, so I am hesitate to give him the thumbs up. If you want his name, let me know.

In the meantime, my mechanic told me Vararam is 3 to 6 weeks away from getting an EO#, which will make them legal in California. I will be buying a Vararam at that time and will let the Forum know how that goes.

Not sure that I have been any help, but wanted to share what I have learned. If you do a search, you will see cold air intakes have been discussed quite a bit on this Forum.

Good luck with your decision.
RJ

Cool Rita
so you decided on the Vararam, ugh.
You'll have to let us know what you think when you get it installed.

Thanks! I've ordered some things from corvette garage..and they give me a military discount...so I just may go with them. I've been looking at the discussions on here about CAIs....just debating if it is worth the 5 bills for the Honker.....

Hi Rich,
Well, I think so. My mechanic really likes them and I always have, too. The one hang-up was they weren't in compliance with smog laws here in California. It's not the price, it is more their claim to give more RWHP and the fact that I want to juice-up my engine as much as possible, without dropping the big bills for a S/C. My mechanic is also going to change the rear end gears, so I'm hoping to see a real change. How are you liking your Honker? How much HP do you think it has added? Did you have to cut anything when you installed it? I still really like the Honker, but there is just something about the Vararam that I like. I'll let everyone know what I finally do.

Take care, stay safe.
Rita
