Default Shorted?

Just replaced oil pressure sensor, car completely dead. I managed to do it without removing intake, or fuel rail. I disconnected the battery, the injector connector on passenger side to facilitate removing the tubing between the oil covers. Had a tough time getting the tubing back in , but finally got it . Reconnected everything and dead. Tried a jumper pack, dead. HELP PLEASE.

Welcome to the forum.

By dead do you mean the battery is dead and won't even turn on the dome lite?

Not knowing anything about the age of the battery and its condition, I would fully charge it and then see if everything works.

battery 3 mos old, tried jumping and charging. Will try again. Just concerned I might have broken a wire or connection near firewall that i can't access.
Thanks for your input.

With a fully charged battery then no lights will come on? If so then the only connection I can is the ground cable on the battery or possibly the positive cable on the battery. You should have battery voltage on the positive cable at the starter. Also check the ground connection between the battery and the frame.

The battery voltage when fully charged should be around 12.7 volts. When you turn the key to start then it should drop somewhat.

It just seems awful weird, working fine except for the guage, disconnected the negative side, installed new guage, reconnected battery and nothing.charged the battery overnight, will check the grounds before I try again. Other worry is no power for the car, how long til that causes an issue? I know it sucks a lot of voltage when parked for awhile. Again. Thanks for ur input.

Do any of lights or instruments work when the battery is on charge? You should also check to see if there is any current draw when everything is off. With everything off and doors closed, the current draw should be in the low milliamps. It sounds like something is killing the battery.

Thanos 73 shark, loose ground. Even the oil press sensor works. Thanks again for your help.
