I've heard of this happening due to old/worn door seals.

I get a little water in my car from bad weather stripping on my targa top. I suggest the next time you wash your car, take a peak inside and see if you can pin-point the leak.

There's a drain hose for the cowl indent on the passenger side that can be blocked. (There's also 3 bladder drains on the driver's side as well) Jack the front up, pull the right wheel (foryour problem). You'll see an access panel in the wheel well. Pull it and you should be able to see a serpentine drain line that runs down past the battery compartment. Make sure it's clear. If it clogs you'll get water backing up and into the passenger foot well. Same on the driver's side if the bladder hoses clog with leaves, etc. There's an access panel on the left wheel well as well.
Also check the A/C drain line, it's on the passenger side also.
