won't start, no resistance in auto shifter
Hello,
Posting on behalf my Dad here...
he has a 98 Lingenfelter, auto.
This afternoon when he went to go to lunch the Vette wouldn't crank. He also said that when he pulled into work and went to shift to park there was - and still is - very little resistance on the shifter.
You still have to brake to move it out of P and into R, but from N down through 3 2 1 or whatever those low gears are is like theres barely anything attached. pulled the middle console and the cables under it and out the front of the shifter are still intact and seem to be fine
When you turn the key there's nothing...not even a click.
It has a brand new yellow top optoma....so I don't think it's lack of power. I'm leaning toward something making the computer think the car is in Drive and keeping it from starting.
ANY light to be shed on this would be great!
