Default Z06 Mass air flow sensor

Pardon me if this sounds like an ignorant question, as I dont know too much.

A friend of mine bought a zo6 marr air flow and gave it to me, my question is.. Is this a flug-and-go switch from the one I have stock on my c5?

Thanks for any help.

If you do not have a Z06 and the MAF is from an 02+ Z06, then you may have drivability problems (lean codes, surging) after installing it. The 02+ MAFs in Zs do not have screens in them. The screens smooth out air flow before the air passes by very thin heated elements. If you have a coupe or vert, your ECU (computer) is set from the factory to obtain data from a laminar-flow sensor. Turbulent flow will more than likely confuse the ECU, resulting in the aforementioned drivability issues.

In other words, do not install it unless you are going to have your C5 professionally tuned.
