Best intake/exhaust
My friend is buying an 07 C6. He wanted me to do some research on the intakes and exhaust.
Im not too farmiliar with C6s. But I know with F-Bodys, the cheapest way to upgrade the intake is just replacing the lid. Corvettes seem different though. Can you replace the corvette lids? Or is it like a whole system?
I know SLP and K&N make kits. I've also heard good things about the Varram kits but we will be driving this car across country in December so I would be worried about water getting inthe Varram.
Now, Exhaust. Ive seen several different setups. Hes mainly just wanting a cat-back... What would be the best setup keeping stock headers. Ive seen Setups inlcuding the X pipe w/out cats and also setups with just the mufflers....
Like I said, We are driving this car across country in December so practicallity is a must... Basically he is just looking for to add a few horses and tone up the exhaust.
So what would yall reccomend.
Thanks

If you are driving the thing across country the main thing about an exhaust will be to get one without resonance (most of them do) and not too loud -- either of both of those would get old in a hurry. Any good aftermarket CAI will do you about as well as any other. I've tried the Blackwing and Honker and Variram -- all work well enough it's just a matter of choice. But my particularly variram was not easy to install and did not fit well.
Catback: the wrong one could ruin your whole trip: resonance and noise can become tiresome on a long trip. A flow through design -- the Borla stinger or the GHL cat back if you want things a bit quieter -- is generally truly free of resonance. Others claim to be but I have no experience to prove it.
