Default whats a good deal on a C6?

Hi all, just joined the forum and this is my first post. I hope I'm posting in the correct forum..Little background..I'm 25, chemical engineer, and right now have a 2002 BMW 325ci...I've always wanted a Corvette deep down inside. I always have liked how they looked on the outside, but have never driven one until today..Went to a large dealership in SW Houston. Test drove a black auto (not going to get a stick with the Houston traffic)2lt. Three words...I WANT ONE...I'm not going to test drive a ZO6 because I'm afraid it will have the same effect on me...

I can afford one on my salary but don't like getting ripped off...Anyways, I told them what I wanted 1lt with no options except auto...I have GM Supplier pricing through work..(an actual code etc)...They were trying to charge me $46,200...The GM supplier site gave me a price through build it of $42,055.81. Is this supplier price impossible to get? I was surprised they were trying to charge MSRP even with the supplier discount. It was on a 2007 btw..and also they said they can't order 2008's yet (which I wanted because of the extra 30 hp). Can you order a Corvette to your specs and buy one at or below supplier pricing?

Thanks, sorry for the long post

This should give you a good idea of the expected discount: http://www.kerbeck.com/kerbeck/kerbe...special_offers

...and here are the 2007 order constraints: http://www.corvetteconti.com/blog/?p=288

We have a 1lt C6 coupe in my showroom with only 2 options on it, its got the 6spd paddle shift on the steering wheel and chrome rims....its stickers for $48,095....i have done up some numbers for myself on it and i think i may end up getting a used C6 at some point....and ya i dont think you will get GMS pricing on any corvette, there is just to much money to be made on corvettes for Chevy....if you have any questions, let me know.

There are lots of tiny differences in equipment, body panels, engine, etc.

The essential differences are:
105 HP
about six tenths (6-9 lenths) in the quarter mile,
12 mph in top top speed
roughly $25,000 in price
