Storage
We’ll it’s that time of year again, time to put the girl to bed for its winter nap.
The question I have is how much gas to store in the tank. In the past I’ve always filled the tank before long time storage but awhile back I write in one of these corvette forums that the level should be no more then 1/4 full because of possible deposits that can occur on the level sending unit.
i’m not worried about condensation in the tank because it is stored in a heated garage. Has anyone heard of problems with gas gauges after storage. Thanx

I haven't heard of any problems. As long as you're storing it in a garage, I'm not sure it would be a problem as long as it was at least a quarter of a tank. Also not sure if they do any good but I would put in a bottle of Heet and the proper amount of Stabil treatment. And maybe just to be extra cautious, I would put in alcohol-free gas.
Yes I run nothing but premium gas that doesn’t contain ethanol. I also add seafoam every third or fourth tank of gas.
I just remember seeing something on one of the corvette forums that said something about storing your car with a full tank of gas and it creating some type of deposit on the sending unit and damaging it over time
Thanx
