Default 69 seat/carpet question

I am redoing the carpet and seats in my 69. Can anyone tell me if theseat mounts/tracksshould go underneth the carpet or just sit right on top of the carpet??? The replacement seat bolts dont look that long! (enough to go thru new carpet and floorboard into the steel under the floor board)

Thanks soo much for any help!

Hi dupont, welcome to the forum. The seat tracks on my '78 are on top of the carpet, I really can't remember seeing them under the carpet on any of the older GM cars, there are a couple of other folks on the boards with '69's, give them a little time to see your post. Good luck.
