Default Engine immediately turned off.

Hi, Everyone!
Last night I started my vette and it immediately turned off. Not stalled out, but turned off. [] I have never had this happen and was wondering if the fact that it was anunusually hot day here and I had put about 50 miles on my vette had anything to do with this.Definitely seems to have been an electrical glitch, but don't know for sure.I restarted itand everything was fine, but thought I'd check with you guys, since you all know so much more than I do.

Thanks in advance.
RJ

Rita, I'm not familiar with the C5 but it sounds like some kind of intermittant short in the ignition system. Did the dash go dead as well or just the engine?

Hi, George!
So good to hear from you. No, the dash didn't go dead, the engine just turned off. Only happened once, but I was so surprised it happened at all. If it happens again, to the dealership I go, since I have the GMPP and that covers electrical stuff.

How is your family? Did you post any pictures lately? Have I missed anything? Hope you are doing great and please kiss all your kids for me.

Blessings,
Rita

Where ya been Dearheart? Hows the pup?

No pictures yet.

Look at Lee Willis' last few posts for "missed stuf"

Well, If the dash didn't go out than I would think the problem is under the hood or just a burp from the dang brain box. Perhaps you could look closely at the wiring and see if anything looks out of place or burnt or scrapped. I know,...Too much kadooky under the hood on these things. Probably best to stop by the dealers service dept. I like to look at things myself first because I hate paying for the labor but if you purchased the warranty what the heck, might as well use it, right? Sorry I'm of no real help. Cheers

Hi, George!
Well, I'm not sure if buying the pricey GMPP was a good idea, but if something goes out that is electrical, I am sure it will more than justify the cost.

Will check out Lee's posts as you suggest and will keep looking for pics of the Codster, All fur creatures are doing just great! PTL!

Hope you are having a great day and say "Hi" to your better half.

How's the oil?

When the motor starts, it will cut off immediately - 2-3 seconds, if oil pressure does not register.

Hope you have a great day.

Thanks for taking time to reply to my problem, but the oil is fine.

Again, Happy Birthday and may you be blessed with many more.
