Default New to corvettes need some help

I recently purchased my first corvette. It's an 08 and I need some help. Driving to work today the engine light came on. Car seemed to still be running fine. After pushing some buttons I discovered that my oil life was at 25%. Is this the reason for the light, me needing to change the oil? I have read a few threads that mention a dic indicator. I'm not sure what that is or how to use it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Nathan

The DIC is the driver information center. The oil life at 25 percent should not trigger a check engine light. I would suggest taking it to an autoparts store where they will scan for codes. Most will do it for free.

Hopefully you got an owner's manual with the car. If not, go online to Helm and order one.

Thanks for the info. I have an appointment at the dealer to have it looked at since it's still under warranty but it came on while I was on my way to work and I had twelve hours to kill so I thought I would see if it was something simple.

Be sure to let us know what they find. Might help someone in the future.

The light went off as soon as I got to the dealership....figures. But they said that since I had gotten gas the night before that it was probably the gas cap not being tight and it reset itself. Hasn't come back on since so I guess they were right.
