I bought a 1975 Stingray 2 years ago but do not have a garage to keep it in. I rent a space in the winter months (I live in PA) and keep it outside my house the rest of the year. I keep it covered all the time when not being used. I notice condensation on the vehicle when I remove the cover and asked a few owners about it. They suggested I DO NOT cover it so that air will circulate more freely around the car. The cover I purchased claims it allows air movement but I am still getting condensation. Any suggestions are welcome. I enjoy the car and want to keep it looking as good as I can.

Welcome to the forum and the world of Corvettes, I tried a car cover for about 6 weeks while I redid my trailing arms. I put the cover on just before the rain and took it off right after and always found water on the car. Just wiped it down and everything was fine. Just keep a lot of wax on it and you'll be okay, PG

Welcome to the forums. That is a great lookin' ride. maybe you could get one of those canvas car ports. They are relatively cheap and easy to set up. Like a portable garage. good luck with it.

Welcome to the forum. What ever you do, don't park the car on a dirt drive way. The frame will rust badly because it picks up the waterfrom the ground and accelerates the rust process.Because you keep your Vette outside most of the year, use the best cover you can buy that allows the air to circulate and keep your car well waxed.

Nice looking Vette! If you are going to cover a car, it is best to not have a snug fit. I cover another car I own and try to only cover after the sun has burned off any dew in the air, although I understand that most people leave for work before this occurs. Just take off the cover as much as possible and let if air dry. Hope this helps! BK

Hi RJ,

As far as the winter storage goes... I cover the concrete floor with plastic and then 3/8" plywood. The plasticputs a barrier between the moisture in the concrete and the car. The plywood sucks up any mositure under the car so that the frame is not damp, especially during temperature changes. Last of all I run a box fan on low all of the while just to keep the air moving. I spent a few hundreds bucks on a breathable soft cover and keep that on all Winter as well.

A couple of other things I'd like to mention. Ya might want to put 'er up on jack stands. That'll keep your tires from getting flat spots from sitting for so long. And crack your widows to stop moisture buildup inside the car.
Let the whole car breath.
