Default Not a 'vette owner........yet!

Hello Corvette Forums!

I'm presently NOT a corvette owner although I'm sure that won't last long! I am doing a project car build using all C5 suspension and drivetrain(Except for the transaxle. I'm buying an aftermarket adapter plate and shaft so I can hook the diff to the 6 speed trans(T-56) with a drive shaft!). If anyone knows, that is reading this, what the performance differences there are in a diff with 3.42 versus a diff with 3.73 gears and can answer I would greatly appreciate it! PM or e-mail answer would be great! j_lim@earthlink.net

Thanks and, hopefully, I won't embarass myself too much!

John

Welcome! I have a 3:73 setup in my '69 Camaro with a Muncie M20 wide ratio 4 speed. Your setup depends on your final drive ratio out of the tranny. 3:73 in my Camaro coupled with about 450 hp puts it in the low 12's. I get about 12 mpg on the highway, also.
